Short term car insurance

Hey, I Have Seen You Somewhere Before

On long trips, we had never thought to get short term car insurance (buy it in the UK from www.insuranceshortterm.co.uk)before. Now I can't live without it, thanks to one of the most understanding insurance agents that I have ever come across. You know how the insurance agents act in the TV commercials? This guy was like that in real life!

You could tell he was a rookie, both because of his baby face and because of what the company had him doing. He was outside hard selling short term car insurance policies in a spot known to be a tourist location. I must take exception with the marketing policy of the company, as auto insurance is the last thing that any tourist is thinking of on vacation. However, this guy was doing such a great job selling by having such a great time with himself that some people actually stopped and took some literature. I was one of those people, not because I wanted auto insurance, but because he offered to take a picture of my family in front of a monument we had all been waiting to see. No one else seemed friendly enough to take it.

He told us his name, and cheerfully handed us some literature from his insurance company saying, "Make sure you are protected fully in your trip! We can make sure of that!"

We said thank you, in the way you say thank you when you know that you are not going to buy anything from this person, even though they did a great job selling. I almost wish it was custom to tip him just for doing an outstanding job promoting the product.

Not two days later we were all in the rented family car having such a great time singing songs and playing around with each other that I did not even notice the car coming up in my front view until my wife screamed. I hit the brakes in enough time to keep anyone from being seriously injured, but we hit the car in front of us nonetheless. When we got out to exchange information, my face was beet red because I knew that I was not covered in this situation. And wouldn't you know it, my embarrassment hit another level when I saw who I had rear ended.

It was the young salesman!

He didn't even need any prompting. He took one look at my beet red face, remembered me and my family from days ago, and promised me that if I purchased a short term car policy, that he would take care of the charges for me. Wow - what a deal. Paying for that accident would have bankrupted the family for the entire trip. We might have had to go home early. But because of the unselfish acts of one salesman, I not only got to save the trip, but that business earned a new customer for life. Funny how life works out!
